This salt and pepper diamond is set in sterling with a miniature hand cut and hand textured shield. It hangs on an 18” sterling curb chain plated with fine silver to keep the tarnish away for longer.
The shield design comes from the armor designs of the 1700s decorated with acanthus garlands which were usually used in architecture. The handmade silver scrollwork piece along the top is a modern version of the asymmetrical acanthus decoration used on shields during this time period.
Please do not wear this necklace in any body of water, shower or to sleep so the fine silver on the chain lasts as long as possible. Please keep it free of lotions and perfumes.
